In my earliest memories I loved the beauty, drama, details and simplicity of nature, which are at the heart of my passion and chosen career path of photography. Whether photographing a flower, butterfly or individual, I feel joy when creating imagery in the spirit of playfulness, intimacy and connection.

As a self-taught freelance photographer and lover of music, I have documented the Texas music scene throughout the past several decades shooting for various artists, major dailies, record companies, SXSW, Texas Monthly and Rolling Stone.

In 2004, I began to photograph abstract images of plants and flowers, which were highly regarded by my colleagues at The Methodist Hospital System in Houston Tx. I continue to work with Methodist, as well as other hospitals, providing fine art nature imagery for patient rooms and corridors. I likewise peddle my nature wares to private collectors, corporate spaces and interior designers.

My current, ongoing exhibition, Delicate Balance: Metamorphosis of the Monarch Butterfly, demonstrates the incredible transformation of the Monarch Butterfly. The exhibit showed at the Cockrell Butterfly Center in the Houston Museum of Natural Science for three months in 2015 and traveled to northern New Mexico in June of 2015.

A few of my 2017 clients are Texas Highways Magazine, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Outsmart Magazine, Methodist Hospital System and Garden Club of America.

As a child I stargazed from the rear dash of my dad’s Chrysler, then chased sunsets out toward the Katy Prairie of Texas when I got my first car. In the spring I will be hiking back roads, camera in hand, surrounded by fields of Texas wildflowers. When the trees turn golden, I will journey west to the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado. On any day, I will head out my back door to photograph a migrating monarch, a rain drop on the petal of an iris or a honey bee nectaring on a zinnia, as I immerse myself in the spirit of the wild, natural world.
